Casual Sunday: Sneakers and Fur

2014 was quite the roller coaster, filled with ups and downs – from traveling for job interviews in attempts to land a post-grad gig, to juggling a part-time job and full load of courses, AND dealing with crazy landladies (don’t get me started.) By the grace of God I made it through it all and came out on top, making the dean’s list for Fall Semester, landing an awesome Spring Semester externship (the law school version of an internship for credit) and a full-time post-grad job. Not to mention I somehow finagled my way into spending my FINAL semester of law school outside of the classroom andddd in my home state (Washington). PHEW, let’s just say last year was quite the year!

Just a few weeks into 2015, I’m excited (and a little nervous) for what this year has to bring. I’m looking forward to this new adventure – and spending the next few months in a prosecutor’s office should be interesting to say the least. I also hope to increase and improve the content and quality of Lawless Fashion. Thank you for your support and following me in this little passion project. I’d like to engage with my readers more this year and would love to hear what you’d like to see on the blog.

2015: My New Year's Resolution

Happy New Year!

To those of you who spent the day nursing a horrendous hangover, I hope the New Years Eve festivities were well worth the hurt! Yesterday was not only New Years Eve, but also my 26^th birthday. And despite the time I spent lamenting that I had no special plans to celebrate the New Year or my birthday (busy friends, boyfriend out of town, sold out event tickets – real bummer!) it turned out to be a beautiful day.

I received plenty of love and well wishes from family and friends and spent the evening bringing in the New Year with my mom and my grandparents. It was the perfect evening and I realized how little I missed the hustle and bustle of a bar celebration and how blessed I was to be celebrating another year of life and the New Year with my loved ones.

With the busyness of life we often forget to slow down and cherish the time spent with those close to us, so that is my first New Year’s Resolution (I’m sure I’ll come up with others in the coming days.) I want to take the time nurture my relationships and to truly enjoy the time spent with those closest to me.

If you’re anything like me, you can spend hours ruminating over the perfect holiday gift for your significant other. To make matters worse I’m a procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping. But when it comes down to it, I want to be sure I have the perfect gift for my booski.

Winter Skin Care Routine

Winter is in the air, and with the dropping temperatures, I’ve winterized my skin-care routine.

Layers

The weather has been on the chillier side this past week (and can you believe we even saw a bit of snow this weekend!) Even with the cooler weather, I’m not ready to give up wearing my dresses, and that means layers!  I paired this floral shirt dress with a cozy sweater and tights. Oh and I gave into the little black booties in my recent currently coveting post. I’m feeling like I made the right choice – they pull this look together perfectly!
